Hillsborough County Launches Urgent Holiday Food Pantry Events

URGENT UPDATE: Hillsborough County is rolling out essential food pantry events this holiday season, responding to the pressing issue of food insecurity among residents. In an immediate effort to bring joy to local tables, the Healthy Living Program has partnered with Feeding Tampa Bay to ensure that families can celebrate without the burden of hunger.

These crucial events are set for November 16, 2023 at the Lee Davis Healthy Living Center and November 17, 2023 at both the Plant City and SouthShore Healthy Living Centers. Open to anyone aged 18 or over, regardless of income, these distributions will provide food packages filled with fresh produce, meats, and essential pantry items, catering to the urgent needs of the community.

This initiative aims not just to alleviate hunger temporarily but to foster long-term health and wellness. With monthly distributions scheduled, residents can rely on consistent support, especially during this festive period. The program highlights the importance of nutrition access for all, recognizing the growing demand for assistance during the holidays.

In addition to food, the Healthy Living Program is enhancing its services with free access to exercise rooms, group fitness classes, and nutrition consultations available at four centers throughout the county. This multifaceted approach underscores a commitment to holistic health and well-being among Hillsborough County residents.

Community resources, including ECHO, the United Food Bank of Plant City, and the St. Anne Catholic Church Food Pantry, are also collaborating to provide comprehensive support, ensuring that no family is left behind.

Residents in need are encouraged to drop by any of the Healthy Living Centers or contact the Healthy Living Program directly for more information on available services.
