Free Tickets Offered to Fire-Affected Residents for Rose Parade Events

The Tournament of Roses announced on December 17, 2023, that over 1,000 free grandstand-seating tickets will be available for residents affected by the Eaton and Palisades fires. In addition, thousands of tickets for the post-parade float viewing event, Floatfest, will also be provided to support those in the impacted communities.

Mark Leavens, President of the Tournament of Roses Association, expressed the organization’s desire to assist during the recovery process. “As our neighbors continue the hard work of recovery, we want to offer moments of joy, connection, and celebration during the New Year’s festivities,” he stated. Leavens described the provision of tickets as a “small but heartfelt gesture of support and solidarity.”

Distribution of Tickets Through Community Organizations

The free tickets for the Rose Parade will be distributed through several community organizations. Participating groups include the Altadena Town Council, California Community Foundation, Pasadena Community Foundation, and the YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles, among others. These organizations will ensure that tickets reach those most affected by the fires.

Distribution details are expected to be communicated by each organization, facilitating access for residents in need. The Tournament of Roses has also allocated 10,000 free tickets to Floatfest: A Rose Parade Showcase, which takes place immediately after the parade. Fire-impacted residents can apply for up to six tickets for this event, which allows attendees to view the iconic parade floats up close.

Additional Support for Fire-Affected Communities

In addition to these major events, the Tournament of Roses is providing a limited number of tickets to other activities, including the Rose Bowl Game, Equestfest, and Bandfest. These tickets will also be distributed through select community organizations, focusing on those most impacted by the recent fires.

The initiative reflects a commitment to fostering community spirit and healing during a challenging time. As the local population continues to recover from the devastating effects of the Eaton and Palisades fires, events like the Rose Parade offer an opportunity for joy and connection in the New Year.
