Remembering Steven Andrew Kovacs: A Life of Music and Love

Steven Andrew Kovacs, aged 73, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2025, after a courageous two-year battle with pancreatic cancer. Surrounded by loved ones, Steve is remembered for his successful career in sales and teaching, particularly at Dakota Tech, where he inspired many students.

A Passion for Music and Community

Music was a central passion for Kovacs, cultivated from an early age in his family home. He continued this love throughout his life, participating in the White Bear Lake High School choir and engaging in liturgical music. Steve led several bands, including The Four Coachmen, 1st Things 1st, and the JS Trio, sharing his passion for music with the community.

Apart from music, Kovacs enjoyed woodworking and sports, especially golf. He cherished moments spent with his wife, Deb, at their lake home, where they created lasting memories together.
