Frankie Grande Undergoes Successful Cervical Spine Surgery

Frankie Grande announced on December 22, 2023, that he successfully underwent cervical spine surgery to alleviate persistent nerve pain. The reality television star, known for his appearance on Big Brother and as the brother of pop icon Ariana Grande, shared the news through an Instagram post featuring a selfie from his hospital bed.

In his post, Grande expressed gratitude for the support he received and provided details about the procedure. “Today I had a planned cervical spine surgery to relieve pressure on nerves in my neck that have been causing pain and neurological symptoms for a while,” he wrote. Following the operation, he reported that everything went as planned, stating, “The procedure went exactly as expected — no surprises, no drama, just very precise work by an incredible medical team.”

The surgery involved the removal of bone and tissue compressing the nerves, allowing for better functionality of his spinal cord and related nerves. Grande emphasized the importance of this surgery for his future well-being, saying, “Now comes four weeks of healing, rest, physical therapy, and being nicer to my body than I usually am.”

Recovery and Holiday Reflections

Grande’s recovery comes during the holiday season, a time of reflection for him and his family. He mentioned feeling sore but relieved, sharing, “I’m safe, I’m relieved, and I’m already feeling hopeful. This was a necessary step so I can get back on my feet, back on stage, and back to living fully without pain running the show.” He also took a moment to thank his followers for their “love, prayers, messages, and support,” describing it as “healing in progress.”

Friends and fellow celebrities responded warmly to his announcement. Gloria Estefan, Carson Kressley, and Deborah Cox were among those who offered their well-wishes in the comments. Notably, singer Imogen Heap humorously inquired if someone would assist with Christmas dinner, to which Grande assured that his husband, Hale Grande, would handle it.

In a prior interview with Us Weekly, Grande shared his family’s plans for their first holiday season without their beloved grandmother, who passed away earlier in the year at the age of 99. He recalled cherished traditions, including cooking family recipes such as Nonna’s meatballs and zeppole. “It will be very different making it without her there at all. But we know she’s there. She’s watching,” he reflected.

As he embarks on his recovery journey, Frankie Grande looks forward to returning to his normal activities, eager to share his experiences with friends and fans. His determination and positive outlook resonate strongly, and he concluded his post with a hopeful message: “See you soon… stronger, steadier, and standing tall.”
