BREAKING NEWS: James D. Styer, aged 80, passed away on January 4, 2026, in Exeter Township. Known for his contributions to the electrical sales industry and his military service, Styer’s legacy is deeply felt in the community.
Born in Reading, Pennsylvania, Styer was the son of the late John L. and Fern M. Styer. He proudly served in the United States Army and later enjoyed a successful career in the electrical sales industry. Styer worked for Progress Electric Supply and retired from Colonial Electric Supply, earning respect and admiration from colleagues and clients alike.
Styer is survived by his children, Andrew J. Styer and Paula Styer, along with several grandchildren, including Evan Styer and Luke Styer. His loving family and friends, including his travel companion Roxann Frain, will remember him fondly. He also leaves behind his beloved cat, “B.C.”
Visitation will occur on Monday, January 12, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Lutz Funeral Home, Inc., located at 2100 Perkiomen Avenue, Reading, PA 19606. Services will follow at 11:00 AM, with interment at Forest Hills Memorial Park on 390 W Neversink Road, Reading, PA 19606.
