St. Bernard Abbey Celebrates Legacy of Retired Abbot Marcus Voss

The monks of St. Bernard Abbey will honor Retired Abbot Marcus Voss on February 6, 2026, recognizing his extensive service and leadership within the community. The celebration will commence with a Mass of Thanksgiving at 16:00 in the Abbey Church, officiated by the Most Reverend Steven J. Raica, Bishop of Birmingham. Following the Mass, attendees will enjoy a festive dinner.

Abbot Marcus Voss, who served as the 10th abbot of St. Bernard Abbey, leaves behind an inspiring legacy characterized by humility, perseverance, and a deep commitment to the Benedictine way of life. Over his six years in office and more than 61 years of monastic fidelity, he has guided the Abbey community through significant growth and renewal.

One of the notable achievements during his tenure was the renovation of the monastery building.
