Nikola Jokic has been selected as an NBA All-Star for the eighth consecutive year, a recognition that highlights his exceptional performance in the league. Announced on Monday, this accolade extends Jokic’s streak, which ranks as the third-longest active run behind Giannis Antetokounmpo with ten appearances and LeBron James with twenty-one.
Despite recovering from a bone bruise in his left knee, Jokic continues to have an impressive season, currently ranking among the top five players in the Western Conference according to fans, players, and media. He is set to compete for the “world team” in a new round-robin tournament format at the upcoming All-Star Game, scheduled for February 15, 2026, at Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, provided his health allows it.
The All-Star starters were determined through a combination of fan, player, and media voting. Coaches will select the remaining 14 players, with those results expected to be revealed on February 1. Nuggets guard Jamal Murray is among those waiting to see if he will join Jokic as the first teammate to participate in the All-Star weekend alongside him.
Jokic’s stats this season are remarkable, as he is averaging a career-high of 29.6 points per game, accompanied by leading the league in rebounds at 12.2 and assists at 11. His true shooting percentage stands at an impressive 71.3%, with shooting figures of 60.5% from the field and 43.5% from three-point range, both also career highs.
He is on track to replicate the feat of averaging a triple-double, a milestone he achieved last season, becoming the first center in NBA history to do so. Currently, he has recorded 16 triple-doubles this season, with only Oscar Robertson ahead of him in the all-time ranking. Jokic was just five rebounds and two assists away from tying Robertson’s total of 181 career triple-doubles when he sustained his injury.
While Jokic’s All-Star selection does not require a minimum number of games played, his ongoing injury poses a risk to his streak of seven consecutive All-NBA team selections and five straight top-two MVP finishes. Players must participate in at least 65 games to qualify for end-of-year awards, meaning Jokic is limited to missing just six more games before becoming ineligible for such honors. Despite his absence, the Nuggets have managed to secure seven wins in their first eleven games without him.
As the announcement from NBC’s studio show confirmed, Jokic was the first player listed among the five starters from the Western Conference. The complete list is as follows:
