A pair of dedicated New England Patriots superfans, Lesley Wilkins and Pam Vetrano, are turning heads at games with their unique matching outfits. The duo, who have fostered a close friendship over the years, have transformed their game day experience into a creative venture, crafting their own distinctive attire.
Wilkins, who has held season tickets for over a decade, and Vetrano became friends when their desks were positioned next to each other at work. Their shared enthusiasm for the Patriots blossomed when Vetrano invited Wilkins to a game. “From then on, I didn’t want to go with anyone else,” Wilkins recalled.
Over the years, Wilkins and Vetrano have amassed a collection of approximately 30 jackets, along with an array of shirts, dresses, and bedazzled shoes. They often gather before the start of each season to design and create new additions to their wardrobes. “We are very superstitious, but we always wear the same thing,” Wilkins explained, emphasizing the importance of their matching attire for every game.
The pair meticulously coordinates their game day looks, matching from head to toe. “Every game we have to match, and we are grown adults,” Vetrano said, highlighting their commitment to this tradition. They also bring an assortment of jewelry to games, which they select based on the day’s outfit. “We probably have 30 pairs of earrings too,” Wilkins added.
While they do not sell their creations, the superfans took the opportunity to share some of their gear during their travels to Patriots games in London and Germany. “We gave away some of our gear when we were there because people there don’t have the same ability to buy the same things that we do here,” Wilkins noted, showcasing their generosity and team spirit.
Looking ahead, Vetrano’s commitment to the Patriots remains unwavering, even with travel plans on the horizon. “If the Patriots make it to the Super Bowl, I will be in Japan, but I actually contemplated canceling Japan if they do make it to the Super Bowl,” she shared, underscoring the depth of their fandom.
As the season progresses, Wilkins and Vetrano continue to embody the passionate spirit of the New England Patriots, not only through their support of the team but also through their vibrant and creative expressions of fandom.
