Patients in Lancashire have reported high levels of satisfaction with their GP practices, according to the latest findings from the 2025 GP Patient Survey, conducted by Ipsos on behalf of NHS England. This extensive survey, which included responses from over 700,000 patients across England, aimed to assess how well local surgeries are meeting patient needs. The survey was carried out from January to March 2023, with the current 2026 survey now underway.
The results indicate that a significant majority of patients feel their healthcare needs have been met. Nationally, 57% of respondents reported that their needs were “definitely” met, while an additional 33% indicated their needs were met “to some extent.”
Top Performing Surgeries in Lancashire
The survey highlights the outstanding performance of various GP surgeries in Lancashire, ranked by the percentage of patients who felt their needs were “definitely” met during their last appointment.
At the top of the list is Slaidburn Health Centre located in Clitheroe. Out of 228 survey forms sent to patients, the practice achieved a remarkable response rate of 42%. An impressive 98% of respondents reported that their needs were “definitely” met, while just 2% indicated their needs were met “to some extent.”
Following closely is New Longton Surgery in Preston, where 256 survey forms were distributed, yielding a response rate of 47%. Here, 85% of patients felt their needs were “definitely” met, with 11% stating they were met “to some extent.”
Another notable mention is Withnell Health Centre in Chorley, which sent out 247 surveys with a response rate of 38%. In this case, 80% of patients confirmed that their needs were “definitely” met, while 19% reported they were met “to some extent.”
Additionally, The Village Surgeries, covering Croston and Eccleston, distributed 369 surveys with a response rate of 33%. Among respondents, 77% indicated their needs were “definitely” met, while 21% said they were met “to some extent.”
