Community Mourns Loss of Cindy Corigliano Taylor, 1970-2025

Cindy Corigliano Taylor, a cherished member of her community, passed away on August 25, 2025, after battling cancer. Born on January 29, 1970, in Glendale, California, Cindy was the beloved daughter of Frank and Marzell Corigliano. Her spirit of kindness and deep love for family and friends was evident from an early age and remained a constant throughout her life.

Cindy is survived by her husband, Steve Taylor; their daughter, Josie Taylor; and her brother, Chris Corigliano, along with his wife, Teresa, and their children, Ashley and Anthony. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sophia, who lost her own battle with cancer at the age of six. Cindy’s legacy continues through her numerous family members, friends, colleagues, and the entire SWISH / GBALL Girls Basketball community.

Career and Community Impact

Cindy graduated from Soquel High School and went on to earn a degree from UCSC, which led her to a fulfilling career as a Graphic Designer for West Marine. Her dedication, integrity, and compassion made a lasting impact on her colleagues and the broader community. Cindy approached every challenge with strength and celebrated her successes with humility.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Cindy was known for her distinctive laugh and her generous heart. She had a passion for movie outings, often bringing a salt packet for “salt emergencies,” and enjoyed spending time outdoors caring for animals. Her ability to listen patiently and offer support made those around her feel valued and loved.

Cindy’s love for basketball was profound. After the loss of her daughter, she found purpose in her involvement with SWISH. This organization became a way for her to honor Sophia’s memory and transform her grief into a mission. Through her unwavering dedication, Cindy fostered an environment where young girls could thrive in sportsmanship and personal growth.

A Lasting Legacy

Cindy’s commitment to empowering girls in basketball was evident in her work with SWISH, where she inspired confidence both on and off the court. Even as she faced her own health challenges, her focus remained on uplifting others and nurturing the community she loved. Her impact on the SWISH community, family, and friends is immeasurable, and her legacy will continue to inspire many.

A celebration of Cindy’s life is scheduled for April 4, 2026, at Chaminade Resort & Spa from 13:00 to 16:00. Family and friends are encouraged to honor her memory with flowers or by planting a living memorial.
