Local Students Achieve Academic Honors in Fall 2025 Semester

Several students from Henrico and Glen Allen have received academic recognition for their outstanding performance in the fall 2025 semester. Notable achievements include placements on various dean’s lists and honor rolls across several prestigious institutions.

Recognitions at the University of Tampa and the University of Mississippi

Nicholas Birindelli and Lily Budzinski from Henrico, along with Sophia Nguyen from Glen Allen, earned spots on the fall 2025 dean’s list at the University of Tampa in Florida. To attain this honor, students must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.75 for the semester.

Additionally, the following local students were named to the chancellor’s honor roll at the University of Mississippi: Elizabeth Shield, Addison Huffman, and Jennifer Stone from Henrico, as well as Gavin Rutherford from Glen Allen. This distinction is awarded to students who complete at least 12 credit hours and achieve a GPA between 3.75 and 4.00.

The dean’s honor roll at the University of Mississippi also recognized several other students. From Henrico, Alexander Chernoff, Abigail Campbell, Michael Malbone, Molly Stephenson, Gabrielle Mitchell, and Copeland Thornton made the list. Emma Perkins from Glen Allen was also honored. To qualify, students must complete a minimum of 12 credit hours and achieve a GPA between 3.50 and 3.74.

Achievements at Other Institutions

Rukhsara Yaqubi of Henrico was recognized on the fall 2025 dean’s list at the University of Arkansas. This honor requires students to complete at least 12 credit hours and achieve a GPA between 3.75 and 3.99.

A significant group of students from Henrico and Glen Allen were also honored at the College of William & Mary in Virginia. Notable names include Hiya Agrawa, Rachel Barbuto, Matthew Conrad, and Lydia Crouch from Glen Allen. The dean’s list recognizes students who complete a minimum of 12 credit hours and maintain a GPA of at least 3.6.

At Hamilton College in New York, James Boyd of Henrico was named to the fall 2025 dean’s list. Boyd, a senior majoring in Economics and Environmental Studies, achieved this honor by maintaining a GPA of 3.5 or higher while enrolled in at least four credit hours.

In addition, Caleb Weakland from Glen Allen and Everett Garner from Henrico were recognized on the dean’s list at East Tennessee State University and Simmons University in Massachusetts, respectively. Both institutions require students to earn a GPA of at least 3.5 while completing 12 credit hours to qualify for this honor.

Graduations at University of Maryland Global Campus

A number of students from Henrico County graduated from the University of Maryland Global Campus. Among them were Dexter Hurt, Ma Antonette Frazier, and Jacob Coe. Notably, William Forrester and Brittney McIntyre achieved the prestigious president’s list distinction, awarded to those who graduate with a cumulative GPA of 4.0. Forrester earned a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, while McIntyre obtained a degree in Human Resource Management.
