Beloved Community Leader Vernon Olson Passes Away at 95

Vernon “Vern” Edward Olson, a cherished member of the Rancho Palos Verdes community, passed away on February 20, 2026, at the age of 95. Known for his dedication to family and community service, Olson is survived by his loving wife, Mary Olson, and their daughters, Margaret Olson-Cox and Karen Olson.

Olson’s life was marked by his commitment to helping others. A long-time resident of Rancho Palos Verdes, he played a significant role in local organizations and initiatives. His contributions to the community will be remembered fondly by those whose lives he touched.

Memorial services will take place on Saturday, March 14, at 11:00 AM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, located at 31290 Palos Verdes Drive West. Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life and legacy during this gathering. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, an organization that was close to Olson’s heart.
