JetBlue Vacations has introduced a new initiative aimed at enhancing traveler confidence in Jamaica by offering a payout of $500 for those whose trips are adversely affected by unexpected rainfall. This program, called the “Great Weather Guarantee,” is a collaboration with WeatherPromise and the Jamaica Tourism Board. It is designed for those booking Jamaica Flight + Hotel packages and is set to run from March 1 to May 31, 2026.
This makes JetBlue Vacations the first in the airline industry to incorporate a destination-based weather guarantee directly into vacation packages. This follows their earlier partnership with WeatherPromise in 2025, which introduced rain protection for Flight + Hotel packages.
Details of the Great Weather Guarantee
Eligible Jamaica Flight + Hotel packages booked during the promotional period will automatically include the Great Weather Guarantee. Travelers will receive a personalized dashboard after booking, detailing their coverage and the specific weather conditions that would qualify for the payout.
“WeatherPromise is designed to give customers greater confidence to travel and experience new places,” said Daniel Price, Co-Founder of WeatherPromise. He emphasized that this collaboration aims to reassure travelers as they explore Jamaica, a prominent Caribbean destination. The weather conditions during the trip will be monitored using advanced data analytics, satellite imagery, and radar technology. Should rainfall exceed the predetermined threshold, customers will be notified and will receive their $500 payout.
Travelers must book packages that range from three to 16 nights, with travel dates extending from now until December 1, 2026. To qualify, bookings need to occur during the promotional period, and travel must commence at least seven days after booking. Flights must be in and out of Montego Bay or Kingston.

Jamaica remains a favored destination in the Caribbean, where brief showers are a common occurrence. The Great Weather Guarantee aims to provide visitors with added confidence when planning their tropical getaways.
“Jamaica is a destination of rich culture and warm hospitality,” stated Edmund Bartlett, Minister of Tourism of Jamaica. He noted that the new initiative allows travelers to fully embrace the island’s offerings without weather-related concerns. Bartlett added that the guarantee would assist visitors in creating unforgettable memories across Jamaica’s unique landscapes and vibrant communities.
