Community Mourns the Loss of Debra Jean Rozas, Cherished Family Member

Debra Jean Rozas, affectionately known as Debbie, passed away on February 20, 2026, at her home surrounded by family. She was born on July 25, 1959, in Laguna Beach, California, to Don and Nancy Gavel. Her life was marked by devotion to her family, community involvement, and a profound love for her two sons.

Debbie graduated from San Clemente High School in 1977. She met her husband, Dave Rozas, on a blind date on February 21, 1986. The couple quickly formed a strong bond, marrying just nine months later on November 16, 1986. Together, they built a life filled with love, joy, and shared experiences.

As a mother, Debbie was deeply dedicated to her sons, David and Dillon. David was born in December 1989, followed by Dillon in November 1993. Debbie’s commitment to her family manifested through her active participation in their activities, often seen cheering from the sidelines at local sports events. She volunteered extensively within the community, particularly with organizations such as Rolling Hills Little League, Mira Catalina, and Peninsula High School. Her presence was a constant source of support for her children and their friends.

Throughout her life, Debbie was not only a devoted wife and mother but also embraced the role of grandmother. She took great pride in her three grandchildren, Laney, David, and Blake, cherishing the time spent with them. Of all the titles she held, she regarded “Nana D” as her greatest honor.

Debbie’s passing has left a significant void in the lives of those who knew her. She was remembered fondly for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering support. Her family, including her beloved husband Dave, sons David and Dillon, and daughters-in-law Brittany and Alexis, are left to carry forward her legacy of love and community spirit.

A service to honor her life will be held on March 08, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Green Hills Cemetery in Rancho Palos Verdes. The community is invited to pay their respects and celebrate the life of a remarkable woman who touched the hearts of many.
