Harry Styles Takes the Top Spot with New Album in Australia

Harry Styles has secured the number one position on the ARIA Albums Chart with his latest release, Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally, marking a significant achievement in his solo career. The album debuted at the top on March 13, 2024, making it Styles’ fourth consecutive number one album in Australia. He previously reached this milestone with his self-titled debut in 2017, followed by Fine Line in 2019-20, and Harry’s House, which dominated for ten weeks in 2022-23.

As a member of One Direction, Styles also topped the charts four times, with albums Up All Night (2011), Take Me Home (2012), Midnight Memories (2013), and Four (2014). His new album has not only captured the top spot but has also emerged as the best-selling vinyl in its release cycle. All twelve tracks from the album have entered the top 50, with “American Girls” currently sitting at number three, further boosting Styles’ total top 50 appearances to an impressive 33.

The release of Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally has shifted the previous chart leader, Olivia Dean’s The Art of Loving, down from first to second place. Dean’s album had enjoyed ten non-consecutive weeks at the top, showcasing her significant presence in the Australian music scene.

Linkin Park is making waves as they embark on their first national tour in 13 years. Their latest album, From Zero, jumped from 44 to 4 on the charts, reflecting a resurgence in popularity since it briefly topped the chart in November 2024.

Another notable debut this week is from the U.S. rock band Fugazi, whose album Albini Sessions (Benefits For Letters Charity) entered the chart at number 20. This collection features previously unreleased tracks recorded in 1992 with the late Steve Albini, marking the band’s first chart appearance in Australia.

Australian artists are also finding success, with Bully Haymakes debuting at number 31 with Anywhere But Here, and Sam Buckingham entering the top 40 at number 35 with Beautiful Machine.

While Olivia Dean’s album slips from the top, she maintains her stronghold on the ARIA Singles Chart with her hit “Man I Need,” which has now reached a remarkable 17 consecutive weeks at number one. This achievement ties her with The Kid Laroi and Justin Bieber’s “Stay,” as well as Alex Warren’s “Ordinary,” for the second-longest reign since the ARIA Charts began in 1983. The record for the longest duration remains with Tones and I’s “Dance Monkey,” which held the top spot for 24 non-consecutive weeks between 2019 and 2020.

Lastly, Tame Impala continues to gain traction on the ARIA Chart with their track “Dracula,” which has climbed from 17 to 15, achieving a new peak position in its 20th week. The song received a boost thanks to contributions from BLACKPINK’s JENNIE, who added vocals to a new mix, and her involvement in a TikTok trend featuring “Dracula.” This track is currently the only Australian recording to make it into the latest top 50.

With these developments, the Australian music scene is vibrant, showcasing both local and international talent while highlighting Harry Styles’ ongoing success as a leading figure in the industry.
