De La Salle Dominates Amador Valley 56-13 in Urgent Showdown

URGENT UPDATE: De La Salle High School showcased their dominance on the football field Friday night, trouncing Amador Valley with a staggering score of 56-13. This decisive victory propels the Spartans to a perfect 7-0 record this season, further solidifying their status as the Bay Area News Group’s top-ranked team.
Just moments into the game, Jayden Nicholas electrified the crowd by returning the opening kickoff 80 yards for a touchdown. The momentum continued as Brayden Knight launched a 30-yard touchdown pass to Dylan Scott, followed by a 15-yard scoring pass to Landon Cook. By the end of the first quarter, the Spartans surged ahead 35-0 with Knight adding another touchdown through a 10-yard run.
As the game unfolded at Amador Valley, it was clear that the East Bay Athletic League posed little challenge for De La Salle. With less than half of the first quarter gone, the Spartans demonstrated their prowess, with Knight connecting again with Emery Speight for a touchdown that extended the lead to 27-0. The excitement continued with an 18-yard run by Greg Jones and a successful two-point conversion by Jamal Johnson-Lucas, further pushing the score to 35-0.
Amador Valley, struggling this season with a record of 2-6, managed to score their first points when Vincent Maiorana executed a remarkable 68-yard run to the end zone, reducing the gap to 42-6. However, the Spartans quickly regained control, finishing the game with a commanding lead.
With three regular-season games remaining, De La Salle looks ahead to a matchup against San Ramon Valley next Friday, followed by home games against California on October 30 and Clayton Valley Charter on November 7. Meanwhile, Amador Valley has a week off before facing Monte Vista on October 31 and concluding their season at California on November 7.
This victory is crucial for De La Salle as they gear up for what could be a two-game section playoff run and a chance to capture the state’s Open Division championship for the first time in a decade. The team’s performance tonight is a strong indicator of their readiness and determination as they aim for the top prize.
