URGENT UPDATE: A routine traffic stop in Chino Hills has escalated into a significant drug bust, leading to the arrest of three residents on narcotics charges. The incident unfolded on October 16 when deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department pulled over a vehicle at the intersection of Rolling Ridge Lane and Glen Ridge for alleged traffic violations.

During the stop, deputies discovered that occupants Michael Aguilar and Tanya Camacho were in possession of methamphetamine. The situation intensified as further investigations directed authorities to a nearby residence on Laguna Court, where they found Camacho’s children being cared for by their grandmother, Mary Rodriguez. Rodriguez had outstanding warrants related to narcotics offenses.

While authorities arrested Aguilar, he was additionally found with methamphetamine and various items indicating drug sales. A subsequent search warrant executed at Rodriguez’s home yielded more methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Rodriguez, who has prior convictions, was arrested under Proposition 36, facing potential enhanced sentencing due to her charges under Health & Safety Code 11395(b)(1).

The arrests of Aguilar and Camacho have drawn attention to the ongoing issues of substance misuse within families. Their children were left in Rodriguez’s care, emphasizing the human impact of such arrests. Both Aguilar and Camacho were transported to the West Valley Detention Center, with Aguilar charged under HS 11378 and Camacho under HS 11377.

The Chino Hills Police Department is urging the public to assist in the investigation by providing any relevant information. Anonymous tips can be reported through the We-Tip Hotline or the department’s website.

As the situation develops, community members are left to reflect on the broader implications of drug-related issues in their neighborhoods. Stay tuned for more updates as authorities continue to address and respond to this urgent matter.
