Final Two Suspects Arrested in Major Creedmoor Drug Bust

UPDATE: The final two suspects linked to a major drug trafficking operation in Creedmoor, North Carolina, have been arrested as of Saturday, according to the Granville County Sheriff. This crackdown, which began earlier this week, resulted in a total of 12 arrests and highlighted a significant drug distribution network operating near schools and public spaces.
The arrests, initially reported on Friday, stemmed from a collaborative effort involving the Granville County Sheriff’s Office and the North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement (ALE). The investigation focused on the area surrounding the City Tavern at 404 N Main St., where law enforcement identified illegal drug manufacturing and distribution activities.
As part of the operation, 10 suspects were apprehended, but two remained at large until now. Those final suspects, Travis Keyshawn Johnson, 23Marcus Shadell Lockett, 52, from Creedmoor, are now in custody. This development follows a swift pursuit by local authorities to ensure community safety.
Johnson was taken into custody during a traffic stop in Butner on Friday night, where officers discovered 9 grams of cocaine, 58 grams of marijuana, and a firearm in his vehicle. He faces multiple serious charges, including felony possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana and a controlled substance. The authorities confirmed that Johnson’s vehicle was identified as a GMC Sierra 2500 pickup truck used in the drug trafficking operation.
Meanwhile, Lockett was arrested without incident by investigators from the Granville County Sheriff’s Office. He is charged with felony conspiracy to sell or deliver controlled substances, reflecting the severity of the offenses linked to this operation.
Sheriff Robert Fountain emphasized the importance of these arrests, stating they represent a significant victory for community safety, particularly given the proximity of drug activities to local schools and playgrounds.
As this situation continues to develop, the Granville County Sheriff’s Office urges community members to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities. The implications of this crackdown are clear: law enforcement is actively working to disrupt and dismantle drug trafficking networks in the area.
The successful conclusion of this operation serves as a reminder of the ongoing battle against drug-related crime, underscoring the need for community cooperation and vigilance. More updates are expected as authorities continue their investigations and assess the full impact of this substantial drug bust.
Stay tuned for further developments on this urgent situation.
