Illegal Immigrant Arrested for $10,000 Bounty on ICE Agents

UPDATE: A Dallas man, Eduardo Aguilar, has been arrested for offering a staggering $10,000 bounty for the murder of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, according to a statement from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This urgent development took place on October 14, 2023, after Aguilar posted a threatening video on TikTok calling for violence against law enforcement officers.
Authorities confirmed that Aguilar, an illegal immigrant from Mexico, had been in the U.S. illegally since 2018 when he entered as an unaccompanied minor. The TikTok video featured Aguilar urging “10 dudes in Dallas with determination” to carry out violent acts against ICE agents, signaling a serious threat to public safety.
DHS officials highlight the rapid response from law enforcement, stating, “Thanks to the quick work of law enforcement, this illegal alien who was offering $10,000 cash bounties for the murder of ICE law enforcement is in custody and facing federal charges.” Tricia McLaughlin, DHS Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs, expressed gratitude that Aguilar, who was armed with a loaded 9mm handgun, was apprehended before he could potentially harm an officer.
Aguilar’s arrest comes amid escalating threats against ICE personnel from organized crime groups. The DHS has reported that Mexican cartels are actively placing bounties on ICE agents, offering rewards ranging from $2,000 for intelligence gathering to up to $50,000 for assassinating high-ranking officials. In a related TikTok video, individuals threatened ICE agents, stating, “If you threaten or lay hands on our law enforcement officers, we will hunt you down.”
The implications of Aguilar’s actions are profound, as law enforcement faces increasing risks from both domestic and international threats. Legal proceedings against Aguilar are underway, where he has been charged with transmitting threats across state lines.
This incident is part of a broader pattern of violence against law enforcement. Last week, the Department of Justice revealed that two men were charged for making threats against an ICE agent and his family on social media. One defendant, Frank Andrew Waszut, made alarming statements calling for violence against the officer, showcasing the dangerous environment that ICE personnel operate in.
DHS continues to combat these threats vigorously, underscoring that every criminal and illegal alien will face justice. As the situation develops, further updates are expected regarding Aguilar’s legal status and the broader implications for law enforcement safety nationwide.
