Upcoming Community Events Celebrate Halloween and Local Talent

Various community organizations in the Greenfield area have planned a series of Halloween events for children and families. On October 31, activities will take place from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at different venues, promising a festive celebration across the region.

In Greenfield, the Greenfield Chamber is organizing the “Spook the Loop” event around the town square from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. The Greenfield Public Library will host a Halloween party during the same time, while the Firemates will provide a hot dog supper at the Greenfield City Hall meeting room from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Additionally, the Adair County Health System will offer a “No Tricks Just Treats” event during the same hours.

Other nearby communities are also participating in Halloween festivities. Fontanelle will hold trick-or-treating from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on October 31. The Fontanelle Lions Club will serve hot dog meals at the fire station during this time. In Orient, trick-or-treating is scheduled for October 30 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., with the Orient United Methodist Church hosting its annual trunk-or-treat event from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. A Halloween party will also be held at the Bridgewater Activity Center on November 1, starting at 5 p.m.

Local Talent and Music Events

In addition to Halloween celebrations, the community will showcase local talent and music performances in the coming weeks. On November 2, the Good News Concert Series will feature a Local Talent Night beginning at 5 p.m. at The Gathering Place. On November 8, renowned artist Chris Patterson and his band, Great Caesar’s Goat, will perform at the Warren Cultural Center at 7 p.m. Patterson has deep connections to Greenfield, as both of his parents graduated from Greenfield High School. He recalls childhood visits filled with afternoons at the local pool and trips to Piper’s Variety Store with his grandparents.

Patterson has gained national recognition, with two albums reaching the top ten on the Americana Music Charts. Concertgoers can expect an electrifying performance featuring original Americana music, outstanding songwriting, and dynamic guitar solos. Tickets for this event are priced at $25 for adults, while students (high school and younger) can attend for free. Celebrating Achievements and Upcoming Performances

The Adair County 4-H Awards Day is scheduled for November 16 at 2 p.m. at the Adair County Fairgrounds. The event will recognize the achievements of 4-H members, leaders, and community partners, with an ice cream social commencing at 1:30 p.m.

On November 22, Jake McVey will perform at the Warren Cultural Center at 7 p.m. Known for his engaging performances, McVey combines upbeat music with a youthful enthusiasm that resonates with audiences. He has shared the stage with prominent country artists including Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert, and Dierks Bentley.

McVey aims to entertain fans with his energetic shows, dedicating his single “Never Give Up” to first responders. The music video features a narrative about a farmer and volunteer firefighter striving to support his family. All tickets for McVey’s performance are $25, available online or at the door.
