New Bubble Tea Cafe Opens in Portland’s Nasons Corner

A new bubble tea cafe, Miss Sweet Bubble Tea, has recently opened its doors in the Nasons Corner neighborhood of Portland, specifically located at 897 Brighton Avenue. This establishment takes over the space previously occupied by Tin Pan Bakery.
Owner Keri Li, who has been a prominent figure in the Greater Portland culinary scene through her ownership of China Villa in Westbrook, aims to bring a taste of global bubble tea culture to the local community. “Bubble tea is really popular everywhere in the world right now,” Li noted. “It’s a sweet drink, and it makes people happy.”
The cafe offers a diverse menu featuring a wide variety of bubble teas, fruit teas, classic teas, and frozen beverages. Additionally, Miss Sweet Bubble Tea provides a selection of snacks including pork buns, spring rolls, egg tarts, and crab rangoon, as well as sweet treats such as cookies and puddings.
Though currently operating as a takeout-only venue, Li plans to introduce outdoor seating next year, enhancing the customer experience as the warmer months approach. The cafe is open from Wednesdays to Mondays, with operating hours from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Li brings over 30 years of experience in the restaurant industry, having previously managed the former Jan Mee in Portland and Jan Mee II in Gorham. Her extensive background in Chinese cuisine has positioned her well for this new venture, which expands the local dining landscape.
The rise of bubble tea shops in Maine reflects a growing trend, with similar establishments emerging across the state. Miss Sweet Bubble Tea joins this movement, catering to a demand for unique beverage options that appeal to a wide range of customers.
As bubble tea continues to gain popularity, Miss Sweet Bubble Tea is set to become a go-to destination for both locals and visitors seeking refreshing drinks and delicious snacks in Portland.
