Betty Jean “Jeanne” Ruth Passes Away, Services Scheduled for Nov 8

BREAKING NEWS: Betty Jean “Jeanne” Ruth has passed away peacefully on October 29, 2025, at Diamond Willow in Cloquet, MN, surrounded by her loving family. This beloved mother and grandmother, known for her kindness and warmth, leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories and deep connections.

Jeanne was born on March 23, 1952, in Alexandria, Minnesota, to Scyril and Betty Lou Sizer. Growing up as the youngest of four children, Jeanne’s childhood was filled with love and adventure, moving frequently but spending most of her school years in ORR, MN, and later graduating from Proctor High School in 1970.

In a significant chapter of her life, Jeanne met her husband, Norman “Norm” Ruth, in 1973, marrying on May 4, 1974. Together, they enjoyed 36 wonderful years of marriage before Norm’s sudden passing in 2010. They were proud parents to their only child, Ryan, and Jeanne took immense joy in her role as a grandmother to Alex and Eli, who were the lights of her life.

During her career, Jeanne held various positions, starting at Travelers Insurance and later serving as the Executive Director of the Arrowhead Builders Association. She ultimately returned to the insurance field, retiring from State Farm Insurance in 2016.

Her friends and family will remember Jeanne not only for her professional achievements but for her ability to connect with everyone she met. With a welcoming smile and genuine interest in others, Jeanne’s kindness was her hallmark.

Jeanne is survived by her son Ryan, daughter-in-law Andrea, grandsons Alex and Eli, siblings Zillah and LeVere Sizer, and many others who cherished her deeply. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and several family members.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: Services for Jeanne will be held at Grace Lutheran Church on November 8, 2025. Visitation begins at 10:00 AM, followed by the service at 11:00 AM. Guests are invited to share stories and honor her memory during a small gathering with appetizers and treats after the service.
