David Harbour Reveals Hilarious ‘Stranger Things’ Moment on Set

David Harbour recently shared a humorous moment from the set of Stranger Things that left him struggling to maintain his character during filming. The 50-year-old actor recounted how a specific line in a scene caused him to break character repeatedly while shooting Season 3 of the popular Netflix series.

In a conversation with People, Harbour described a scene where his character, Jim Hopper, confronts Finn Wolfhard’s Mike and Millie Bobby Brown’s Eleven. The moment in question occurs when Hopper expresses his disapproval of Mike being in bed with his daughter. Harbour recounted that he angrily tells Finn, “You got to get home because I don’t want him in bed with my daughter.” When Mike asks why, Hopper responds, “It’s your grandma.”

For reasons he could not explain, this particular line triggered an uncontrollable fit of laughter. “I just, for some reason, that particular line, I couldn’t say it for like an hour,” Harbour reflected. His laughter was so intense that it disrupted filming, prompting young co-stars Finn and Millie to inquire, “What is wrong with you? We need to get to work.”

Despite his apologies to the younger actors, Harbour noted that he rarely breaks character during shoots, making this experience particularly memorable. “If you watch that thing, that really is probably one of my favorite memories because I’m a pretty responsible guy when I go to work, but I was very, very irresponsible that day,” he said, chuckling at the recollection.

Upcoming Season 5 Premiere

As fans anticipate the return of Stranger Things, the series will kick off with its fifth season on November 26, 2023, featuring the first four episodes. Harbour recently reunited with Millie Bobby Brown at the world premiere, where their camaraderie was evident.

The anecdote serves as a reminder of the lighthearted moments that can emerge during the intense process of filming. As Harbour prepares for the new season, his experience on set continues to resonate with fans and cast alike, highlighting the unique blend of drama and humor that defines the beloved show.
