Free Spay/Neuter Clinic Launches in Austin, Running Nov 13-17

UPDATE: A free spay/neuter clinic opens in Austin today, running from November 13 through November 17, 2025. This initiative, a collaboration between Austin Animal Services and Greater Good Charities, aims to provide essential veterinary services to over 1,200 pets in the community.

The clinic is available to pets of Austin and Travis County, offering free spay and neuter surgeries, along with complimentary vaccinations, microchips, and flea/tick prevention treatments. This effort addresses the critical issue of pet overpopulation, which has led to an increase in stray animals and unplanned litters in neighborhoods.

“Austin’s municipal shelter is dedicated to ensuring that every pet owner—regardless of their financial situation—has access to vital services that promote pet health and community safety,” said Rolando Fernandez, Interim Director of Animal Services. His remarks highlight a commitment to elevating the quality of life for pets and their owners.

This clinic marks the sixth event of its kind in the past year, having successfully provided surgeries for over 5,000 pets to date. Typically, these procedures can cost between $75 and several hundred dollars, making this clinic a vital resource for those facing financial barriers.

Pet owners interested in utilizing these services should arrive early at the clinic located at 11580 Stonehollow Dr., Suite 160, Austin, TX 78758. The clinic operates on a first-come, first-served basis, with registration starting at 6:00 AM and ending by 10:00 AM or until all available spots are filled each day.

The initiative not only aims to reduce the number of homeless pets but also fosters responsible pet ownership within the community. Following this event, organizers are already preparing for another clinic scheduled for early 2026, further emphasizing their ongoing commitment to pet welfare.

As hundreds of pet owners line up for these free services, the urgency and importance of this event resonate throughout the community. This collaborative effort is a testament to Austin’s progressive stance on animal welfare, ensuring that every pet receives the care they deserve.

For those looking to get involved, spreading the word about this opportunity can make a significant difference in the lives of pets and their owners alike. Together, the community can work towards a healthier, safer environment for all animals in Austin.
