Marin Weather Turns Dry; Rain Expected Only After Thanksgiving

UPDATE: Marin’s weather is taking a swift turn towards dry conditions, with no significant rainfall expected until after Thanksgiving, according to the National Weather Service. This sudden shift comes after a modest storm delivered 0.48 inches of rain on Mount Tamalpais and lighter totals in nearby areas.

In the latest storm, rainfall measured 0.35 inches in Woodacre, 0.31 inches in Kentfield, 0.29 inches in San Rafael, and 0.20 inches in Novato, reported Dillon Flynn, a meteorologist with the agency. While these totals are below expectations, they mark a refreshing change from the region’s long dry spell.

Residents should prepare for a dry stretch, as high temperatures are projected to reach the middle 60s along the bayshore, with nighttime lows dipping into the upper 40s. The next chance for rain is not anticipated until the weekend following the holiday, further emphasizing the need for outdoor plans during Thanksgiving festivities.

This shift in weather is particularly significant for Marin residents who rely on seasonal rainfall for local agriculture and water supply. With Thanksgiving just around the corner, families can look forward to clear skies and pleasant weather for their holiday gatherings.
