Unison Bank’s $250,000 Gift Sparks Campus Hub at UJ

URGENT UPDATE: A transformative gift of $250,000 from Unison Bank has just been unveiled, fueling the launch of a vibrant new community hub at the University of Jamestown (UJ). The Well Coffee Shop, located within the newly opened Reuben and Clarice Liechty Center for Faith and Life, officially opened its doors this fall, ushering in a new era of campus connection.

The Well is more than a coffee bar; it is swiftly becoming the heart of UJ, nestled between the historic Voorhees Chapel and the Badal Nafus Student Union. As students and community members flock to this space, it signals a significant shift in campus life.

Brett Moser, UJ’s vice president of development and alumni relations, emphasized the importance of this new gathering place, stating, “It is a special place for the campus and community to enjoy.” Moser expressed deep gratitude to Unison Bank for their pivotal role in turning this vision into reality, noting that such generosity creates lasting impact for decades.

The Well Coffee Shop embodies UJ’s faith-based mission, serving as a modern-day “well” where students can find refreshment, reflection, and spiritual growth. As Kelly Rachel, president and CEO of Unison Bank, stated, “We were excited about creating a space where students feel cared for, energized, and supported.” Rachel highlighted that this investment goes beyond coffee; it aims to nurture students’ minds and spirits, empowering them to pursue their aspirations with confidence.

Unison Bank, established in 1965 in Jamestown, has a long-standing tradition of supporting educational and community initiatives. Rachel asserted, “The boldest change we hope to spark is a culture of intentionality where students are living with purpose.”

As coffee brews, so do ideas and friendships. The Well is quickly becoming a vital space for students to pause, pray, and connect, enhancing their college experience and fostering a sense of community. This initiative not only enriches campus life but also reinforces the university’s commitment to nurturing student well-being.

This new hub stands as a testament to the power of community support in shaping educational environments. With the opening of The Well, UJ is poised to cultivate a vibrant community where students can thrive both academically and personally.
