Boosie Badazz Celebrates Life of Late Fan at Detroit Funeral

Boosie Badazz made a memorable appearance during a funeral procession in Detroit over the weekend, fulfilling the final wish of a dedicated fan. The veteran rapper attended the celebration of life for Alaicha Johnson, a 19-year-old who passed away on October 5, 2023, after a prolonged battle with cancer. His presence at the event on October 17, 2023 brought joy and comfort to family and friends, turning a somber occasion into a heartfelt tribute.
Alaicha’s parents, Tiffany and Ramon Johnson, shared fond memories of their daughter, describing her as the “life of the party.” Known by her nickname “Lay Lay Wild,” Alaicha was a vibrant member of the LGBTQ community and a source of unwavering support for her family. They emphasized how she always maintained a positive spirit, despite her health struggles.
The decision to invite Boosie to the funeral procession stemmed from a previous plan. Tiffany and Alaicha had intended to attend one of Boosie’s performances in Detroit earlier, but Alaicha’s declining health made that impossible. In a heartfelt gesture, Tiffany reached out to her sister in Alabama, who had connections to Boosie’s promoter. The rapper willingly agreed to honor Alaicha’s memory, transforming the marina-style venue into a lively concert setting.
During the event, Boosie performed his popular hit “Wipe Me Down,” igniting smiles and excitement among the attendees. Family and friends were visibly uplifted, their faces illuminated by the light of cell phones as they recorded the moment. Ramon described the performance as a true reflection of Alaicha’s vibrant energy, a fitting tribute to her spirit.
While the Johnson family did not create a fundraising campaign, they encouraged those who wish to contribute to consider donating to the Fanconi Anemia Research Foundation. Alaicha’s lifelong fight against health challenges instilled in her a desire to help others, and her family hopes that continuing her legacy in this way would resonate with her values.
In celebrating Alaicha’s life, Boosie Badazz not only honored a devoted fan but also brought together a community in remembrance of a young woman whose spirit and energy will not be forgotten.
