Michael Waldron, a key figure in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has suggested that actor Glen Powell would be an ideal choice to portray Richard Rider, also known as Nova. Waldron, who has served as head writer and executive producer on the popular Disney+ series Loki and penned the screenplay for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, made his comments during an interview with The Playlist.

Powell, known for his roles in Top Gun: Maverick and the upcoming film The Running Man, has been linked to various superhero roles in the past, including Scott Summers/Cyclops for Marvel and Booster Gold for DC. Waldron believes that Powell would excel in the role of Nova, which has been anticipated by fans since the introduction of the Nova Corps in the original Guardians of the Galaxy film.

The character of Nova has yet to be depicted on screen, but Marvel Studios has been developing a Nova series for several years. The project, which has faced numerous delays, is currently helmed by showrunner and writer Ed Bernero. Fans are eager to see how Nova will eventually fit into the broader Marvel narrative.

Waldron’s suggestion of Powell as Nova comes at an exciting time for both the actor and the Marvel franchise. With the superhero genre continuing to dominate the box office, the casting of a popular actor like Powell could attract even more attention to the franchise.

As Marvel Studios builds anticipation for its upcoming projects, the potential inclusion of Glen Powell as Nova represents yet another intriguing possibility for fans. With more news likely to emerge as the development of the Nova series progresses, the excitement surrounding this character is expected to grow.

While Powell is set to appear in Edgar Wright’s The Running Man next month, fans will be watching closely to see if he takes on the mantle of Nova in the near future.
