Halle Bailey and DDG Reach Temporary Custody Agreement Over Son

Halle Bailey and her former partner, rap artist DDG, have reached a temporary custody agreement regarding their one-year-old son, Halo. This development follows a protracted custody dispute and the dropping of mutual domestic violence restraining orders, as detailed in court documents filed on March 11, 2024, in Los Angeles County Superior Court.

Both Bailey and DDG, who were in a relationship from 2022 to 2024, have agreed to co-parent their child without the encumbrance of legal restrictions against one another. The stipulation signed by both parties marks a significant step forward in their ongoing disagreements, which intensified over the summer months.

In October 2024, when the couple announced their separation, DDG expressed a desire to maintain a friendship and a commitment to co-parenting. He stated, “We are still best friends and adore each other,” emphasizing their focus on their son. Nevertheless, tensions escalated in May when Bailey filed for a temporary restraining order, alleging ongoing abuse from DDG throughout their relationship. In her request, she claimed that “Darryl has been and continues to be physically, verbally, emotionally, and financially abusive towards me,” according to the court filings.

DDG responded to Bailey’s allegations with claims of his own. He accused her of “emotional instability and coercive control” and expressed concern over her mental well-being, noting “repeated threats of suicide and self-harm.” He also raised issues regarding her behavior and its potential impact on their child’s safety during periods of emotional distress.

The latest court documents stipulate that both parties must “immediately dismiss” their restraining order requests, while still allowing for the possibility of future filings if necessary. Custody arrangements specify that Bailey will hold physical custody of Halo except on Wednesdays and select weekends. The agreement also includes provisions for how holidays and birthdays will be shared.

In an effort to maintain privacy for their child, the court documents outline restrictions on social media usage. Neither Bailey nor DDG, nor their friends and family, may post images or information regarding Halo on any social media platforms. Additionally, both must refrain from publicly disparaging one another or speaking negatively in front of their son, who will celebrate his second birthday in December.

Bailey, 25, and DDG, 28, first gained public attention as a couple through their social media interactions, later making a red carpet debut at the 2022 BET Awards. Bailey previously described her relationship with DDG as her “first deep, deep, real love.” Throughout their time together, they faced various challenges, including public scrutiny and personal disputes.

Currently, Halle Bailey is also focused on her burgeoning music career. She released her debut solo album, ‘Love?…or Something Like It’, on March 8, 2024. In an announcement on Instagram, she conveyed that the album explores themes of “first love, heartbreak, and everything that comes after,” reflecting her personal experiences.

The ongoing developments in Bailey and DDG’s relationship highlight the complexities of co-parenting amid personal challenges. As they navigate their new arrangement, both parties remain committed to prioritizing their son’s well-being.
