Kim Kardashian Stuns in Maison Margiela at 2025 Academy Museum Gala

Kim Kardashian captured attention at the 2025 Academy Museum Gala held in Los Angeles on October 18, 2025, wearing a striking gown designed by Maison Margiela. The outfit, a strapless, tan couture creation, featured a corset bodice and billowing sleeves, complemented by a translucent face mask that echoed her iconic look from the 2021 Met Gala.
As she walked the red carpet, Kardashian shared her excitement about the ensemble, stating, “You know I love Margiela, so here we are.” The star explained that her makeup process involved flying in her favorite artist, Mario Dedivanovic, from New York, leading to a last-minute preparation for the event. She playfully remarked about the logistics of wearing the mask, saying, “I’ll probably take it off upstairs to eat, right?”
Despite the full face covering, Kardashian reported feeling comfortable throughout the evening. She noted her previous experience with face coverings, referencing her all-black Balenciaga outfit at the 2021 Met Gala. “You know, I’ve done this before,” she said, adding that the design felt particularly aligned with her own brand, Skims.
Kardashian emphasized that her choice of attire was inspired by the vision of Glenn Martens, the designer behind Maison Margiela, highlighting the importance of the mask and the layered diamond-and-emerald necklaces in completing the look.
Skims, which Kardashian founded in 2018, has continued to innovate in the fashion world. Recently, the brand launched its new Faux Hair Panty line, which features G-strings adorned with artificial hair. Kardashian described the idea as a playful concept that gained unexpected popularity, selling out within minutes. “I had no idea that it would get a reaction,” she said, reflecting on the success of the product.
The brand’s playful approach extends to other recent releases, including a Face Wrap designed to support the jawline using sculpting fabric and collagen yarns. Kardashian noted, “I think it’s fun to mix it up.”
The Academy Museum Gala, often referred to as the Met Gala of the West, attracted numerous celebrities who showcased their fashion choices. Kardashian’s appearance, marked by her unique style and innovative designs, further solidifies her influence in both the fashion industry and popular culture.
The event not only highlights individual creativity but also serves to benefit the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, reinforcing the significance of arts and culture in Hollywood. As the night unfolded, attendees celebrated both the glamour of the occasion and the spirit of artistic expression that the gala embodies.
Kardashian’s contributions to fashion and her ability to make bold statements continue to resonate, showcasing her as a significant figure in contemporary culture. With her innovative designs and forward-thinking ideas, she remains at the forefront of the fashion landscape.
