A new chapter in the iconic horror franchise “Evil Dead” is set to unfold, as the seventh film has officially announced its cast. Following the original trilogy by Sam Raimi, the 2013 remake, and the recent releases “Evil Dead Rise” and “Evil Dead Burn,” this untitled project will be directed by Francis Galluppi, known for his work on “The Last Stop in Yuma County.”
While specific plot details remain undisclosed, Galluppi will also serve as the screenwriter for the film. The leading roles will feature British actress Charlotte Hope, recognized for her performances in “The Nun” and “Catch Me a Killer,” alongside American actor Zach Gilford, famed for his roles in “Midnight Mass” and “Friday Night Lights.”
International Cast Members Join the Project
The cast will include a number of Australian talents, such as Jessica McNamee from “Mortal Kombat” and “The Meg,” Josh Helman, known for “Mad Max: Fury Road” and “Thirteen Lives,” and Ella Newton, who has appeared in “Dangerous Animals” and “Harrow.” Additionally, Elizabeth Cullen, seen in “Goolagong” and “Last King of the Cross,” and newcomer Ella Oliphant will also be part of the ensemble.
New Line Cinema and Sony Pictures are co-financing the production, with Rob Tapert and Sam Raimi taking on producing roles. Bruce Campbell, a franchise staple, will serve as executive producer. The film will be distributed in the United States by Warner Bros. Pictures and internationally by Sony.
