Southeastern Louisiana University’s College of Business is set to launch an online medical sales training program aimed at equipping students and professionals for careers in the expanding medical sales industry. This program, which begins in spring 2026, will be delivered in a flexible online format to accommodate various schedules.
Travis McCoy, a Professional Sales instructor and the College of Business Healthcare Industry Programs Coordinator, emphasized that the growing healthcare sector has led to an increased demand for knowledgeable professionals in medical sales. “This program is designed with both industry needs and student success in mind,” McCoy stated. “We’re equipping learners with the tools and confidence they need to succeed in a high-demand, high-reward field.”
The curriculum will cover essential topics such as navigating the medical sales landscape, understanding medical terminology, employing evidence-based practices to enhance healthcare outcomes, and mastering professional selling strategies. Participants will also delve into advanced techniques and sales leadership, preparing them for the complexities of the industry.
Applications for the inaugural cohort opened on October 20, with a deadline set for December 19. Prospective students are encouraged to engage in virtual program interest calls hosted by McCoy and April Field Kemp, the Interim Marketing and Supply Chain Management Department Head.
