State Representative Christian Manuel will serve as the special guest for the upcoming Alzheimer’s & Dementia Research Update scheduled for October 22, 2025. The event, hosted by the Alzheimer’s Association board member Christina Crawford, aims to inform attendees about the latest advancements in Alzheimer’s research and treatments.

Taking place at 2 p.m. at the Port Arthur Public Library, located at 4615 9th Ave, the session will also discuss the Alzheimer’s Association’s advocacy efforts for Proposition 14. This proposition seeks to bolster funding for dementia research in Texas, highlighting the community’s role in advancing this critical field.

In addition to the Port Arthur event, a morning session will occur earlier that day at 9 a.m. in the third-floor boardroom of Stellar Bank, located at 5999 Delaware St. in Beaumont. This dual approach allows for wider community engagement and participation.

Attendees are encouraged to learn how they can contribute to advancing dementia research and support the ongoing efforts to improve care for individuals affected by Alzheimer’s disease. For those interested in attending, additional information and RSVP details can be obtained by contacting Shanna Briggs at [email protected] or by calling 409-833-1613.

By participating in events like these, community members can stay informed and actively involved in the fight against Alzheimer’s, furthering the mission of the Alzheimer’s Association to enhance care and support for those impacted by this condition.
