Savannah Survivor Combines Fitness and Awareness for Breast Cancer

A breast cancer survivor from Savannah, Georgia, is making a significant impact in her community by blending fitness with breast cancer awareness. Letia Parker is elevating her fitness aerobics classes by sharing her personal journey with the disease, emphasizing the importance of health and fitness.

Parker believes that recognizing one’s health is crucial. “Recognizing your health, being in shape, being healthy, moving… being aware of your body… I feel like breast cancer and fitness go together,” she stated. Her passion for fitness and advocacy drives her to promote healthy lifestyles among others.

On October 18, Parker hosted a Pinkout Workout, where participants engaged in three different workout sessions throughout the day. The event featured an energetic hip hop aerobics class, attracting many participants who joined Parker and other instructors.

All proceeds from this event contributed to the breast cancer awareness initiative, underscoring Parker’s commitment to giving back to her community. She aims to inspire others to prioritize their health while raising awareness about the importance of early detection and fitness in battling diseases like cancer.

Through her efforts, Letia Parker is not only sharing her story but also encouraging a culture of health and wellness in Savannah and beyond.
