Community Mourns the Loss of Thomas Gerald Lewis

Thomas Gerald Lewis, a respected member of the Mansfield community, passed away on February 5, 2026. He was born on September 17, 1950, to Emma Jean Smith Lewis and Edward Onree Lewis. Known for his warmth and kindness, Gerald leaves behind a legacy of love and friendship.

As a dedicated husband and skilled mechanic, Gerald was a familiar face in the community. He had a passion for the outdoors that evolved over the years. In his youth, he enjoyed coon hunting, but later found joy in fishing alongside his wife Faye and close friend Roy. His connection to nature reflected his easy-going spirit and love for life.

Remembering a Faithful Community Member

Gerald was a devoted member of Callie Fuller Church in Monticello, where he found joy and fellowship among his church family. His strong faith was a guiding force in his life, and he cherished the relationships he built within the congregation.

He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Paige, sister Brenda, and nephew Brent. He is survived by his wife, Faye, brother Gary, sister-in-law Gail, and two sons, Mark and Brad, along with several nieces and cousins who will miss him dearly.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for February 13 at 14:00 at Callie Fuller Church. The service will be officiated by Pastor Charles Roper, with visitation beginning at 13:30. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Gerald’s memory to a favorite charity or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Gerald’s impact on those around him will be felt for years to come. His friendly nature and passion for life have left an indelible mark on his family and friends, who will remember him fondly.
