Community Remembers Gail K. Wold, Beloved Musician and Volunteer

Gail K. Wold, aged 87, of West St. Paul, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy rich in faith, family, and community involvement. Her life was marked by a deep commitment to music and service, impacting countless lives through her various roles as a musician, choir director, and volunteer.

Born as Gail Zinschlag, she is survived by her children, Janelle (Todd) Rau and Kevin (Jodi) Wold, along with her grandchildren, Aaron (Kim), Emily (fiancé Jake), Griffin, and Shiloh. Gail also cherished her great-grandchildren, Andrew and Daniel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howie Wold, her parents, Gil and Ellen, and is mourned by her brother-in-law, Paul (Linda) Wold, and nieces and nephew, Julie, Mary, and Andy.

Gail’s contributions to her community and church were profound. A proud graduate of Park High School in 1956, she dedicated over 70 years to church music and served for more than 50 years as the children’s choir director. Her passion for music and nurturing young talent left an indelible mark on many lives. Additionally, for 45 years, she volunteered at the Minnesota Zoo, sharing her love for animals with visitors.

Her family will host visitation on December 19, 2023, from 16:00 to 19:00, and a funeral service on December 20, 2023, at 11:00, with an additional hour for visitation starting at 10:00. Both events will take place at King of Kings Lutheran Church, located at 1583 Radio Drive, Woodbury. A luncheon will follow the service, allowing friends and family to gather and celebrate Gail’s life.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in her honor, reflecting the spirit of giving that Gail exemplified throughout her life. Her legacy of love and service will continue to inspire those who knew her.
