Ironton Celebrates Grand Opening of New Community Dog Park

The City of Ironton is set to inaugurate its new community dog park with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on October 21, 2025, at 11 a.m.. The event will be held at 712 S. Third St., located near the Ironton-Russell Bridge. Residents and their dogs are invited to celebrate the opening of this dedicated space designed for both recreation and community bonding.
Mayor Sam Cramblit expressed enthusiasm about the new park, stating, “The new dog park is more than just a recreational space, it’s a gathering place that celebrates community. We’re proud to create a dedicated area for our residents and their pets to enjoy the outdoors together, and we’re deeply grateful to all who helped make this project possible.”
Investment in Community Wellbeing
The establishment of the dog park is seen as a vital enhancement to the quality of life for Ironton’s residents and their pets. This space offers a secure environment where dogs can play, exercise, and socialize freely. The project is the result of a collaborative effort involving the city and various local partners who contributed their time, services, and resources to realize this vision.
The city acknowledged key contributors to the project, including ODOT, Newman’s Fencing, Nolan Electric, State Electric, and Glockner’s. Their support has been instrumental in bringing this community resource to fruition.
Community Engagement and Activities
The ribbon-cutting ceremony will not only mark the official opening of the park but also feature participation from several local pet-related businesses. Community members will have the opportunity to meet vendors, learn about local pet services, and enjoy a morning filled with activities alongside their dogs.
For further details regarding the event, residents are encouraged to contact the mayor’s office at (740) 532-3833. This new facility promises to be a vibrant addition to the Ironton community, fostering connections among residents and their furry companions.
