A Life of Service and Community Involvement

Born on July 15, 1947, in West Point, Nebraska, to Frank and Mildred (Sebek) Limbach, Robert was raised in Howells. He graduated from Howells High School in 1965 before pursuing higher education at Wayne State College, where he earned a degree in history and vocational education.

On June 20, 1970, he married Linda Dostal at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Howells. The couple established their home in Blair, where they raised their family and formed lasting friendships. Robert began his teaching career at Blair High School in 1970, where he notably built the drafting program within the vocational department. His impact on students and colleagues continues to be felt through the stories shared by those he taught.

Beyond his teaching role, Limbach dedicated his time to various local organizations, including the Blair Little League and St. Francis Borgia Church. His commitment to community service was evident in every aspect of his life, as he sought to nurture the growth of those around him.

A Family Man with a Passion for Life

Bob had a multitude of interests that brought him joy. He enjoyed woodworking, stamp collecting, reading, and engaging in outdoor activities like hunting and fishing. A passionate sports fan, he was known for attending Creighton basketball games and Notre Dame football games. However, his greatest joy came from supporting his grandchildren in their various activities. Fondly known as “Papa Bob,” he cherished family gatherings and vacations that created lasting memories.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; daughter Lisa Wolff (Jeremy) and son Jason Limbach (Brooke); as well as grandchildren Hannah, Olivia, Brianna, Sydney, Jenae, and Jackson. He is also remembered by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Robert was preceded in death by his parents and his in-laws, Herman and Arlene (Dirkschneider) Dostal.
