Sidney Webb, Veteran and Community Leader, Dies at 74

Sidney Earl Webb, a veteran of the United States Air Force and a respected community leader, passed away on January 29, 2026, at the age of 74. He died peacefully at his home in Chesapeake, surrounded by his family.

Born on July 11, 1951, in Chillicothe, he was the son of the late Elbert and Alma Crouch Webb. Throughout his life, Sidney was known for his dedication to family and community. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Brenda Webb, and several siblings: Richard Webb, Aubrey Ray Webb, and Patricia Webb.

Career and Community Engagement

Sidney was the proud owner of Sids Li’l Construction Company, where he made a lasting impact through his work. His commitment to service extended beyond his business; he also held the position of Sunday School superintendent at Getaway Community Church for many years. More recently, he had been attending Windsor Chapel for over three years, where he continued to foster connections within the community.

Sidney is survived by his loving wife, Sadie Webb, as well as two step-children, Angela and Jamie Pruitt. He is also remembered by his siblings: Virginia (Jerry) Pendelton of Kitts Hill and Billy Webb of South Point. Additionally, he leaves behind two sisters-in-law, Brenda Webb and Linda Webb, both of South Point, along with five step-grandchildren: Cody Pruitt, Destiny Walters, Katie Pruitt, Levi Pruitt, and Staley Gue, as well as two step-great-grandchildren. Sidney was also a cherished uncle to several nieces and nephews and had a loyal companion, a dog named Roxie.

Final Arrangements and Memorial Service

A funeral service is scheduled for 1 p.m. on February 3, 2026, at Wallace Family Funeral Home in South Point, with Pastor Harold Hamlin officiating. Following the service, burial will take place at Getaway Cemetery in Chesapeake. Family and friends are welcome to visit the funeral home from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service, providing an opportunity for shared memories and support.
