The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station is currently accepting applications for its Deputy Explorer Program, a unique opportunity aimed at young adults aged 14 to 20. To qualify, applicants must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0. This program is designed to foster leadership, responsibility, confidence, and compassion among participants while they engage in volunteer work within their community.
According to a news release from the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department, the Deputy Explorer Program offers hands-on exposure to law enforcement careers. Participants will receive training that prepares them for potential careers in this field. The Explorer Academy is scheduled to take place every Saturday over an 18-week period, from February 7 to June 6, 2024, at the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station.
