In response to the shooting, House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Andrew Garbarino has requested testimony from key leaders at ICE, CBP, and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), emphasizing that “my top priority remains keeping Americans safe.” Alongside Garbarino, several other Republican representatives and senators, including Susan Collins of Maine, Thom Tillis from North Carolina, and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, have urged for greater transparency and investigation into the circumstances surrounding Pretti’s death.
