Wolff explained that both men shared an intense interest in real estate, stating, “If they get screwed in a real estate deal, that breaks up any rich guy relationship.” This dynamic became evident when Epstein bid $36 million for a house, seeking Trump’s advice on renovations. Unknown to Epstein, Trump positioned himself to outbid his friend, ultimately offering $40 million for the property. According to former club employees, Maples conveyed her discomfort to Timothy McDaniel, a Trump family bodyguard responsible for security.
