Boerne High Girls Basketball Triumphs Over Lady Rangers, 52-36

The Boerne High girls basketball team showcased a strong performance last Friday, securing a convincing victory over the Lady Rangers at Smithson Valley with a final score of 52-36. This win improves Boerne’s district record to 10-2 and positions them at 22-7 overall. The team is set to host Champion on March 15, 2024, before heading to Alamo Heights for their next matchup.

Boerne started the game with momentum, leading 13-6 after the first quarter. The Lady Hounds further tightened their grip in the second quarter, limiting the Lady Rangers to just 6 points while scoring 14, resulting in a commanding 27-12 lead at halftime. They maintained their advantage in the third period, outscoring the Lady Rangers 13-9 for a comfortable 40-21 lead heading into the final quarter.

The fourth quarter saw the Lady Rangers respond with their best offensive display of the evening, scoring 15 points. Despite this effort, Boerne managed to add another 12 points to their tally, sealing the win at 52-36.

Leading the charge for Boerne was Sutherlin Menn, who scored 18 points and contributed significantly on defense with 4 steals. Emery Reyes supported the effort with 8 points, while both Addison Palluch and Oleyvia Ramos added 7 points each. Other contributors included Addison Saur with 4 points, and both Hartlee Menn and Melia Gonzalez, each scoring 3 points, along with JT Hernandez who netted 2 points.

On the boards, Palluch and Hernandez each recorded 5 rebounds, with Hernandez gathering all of her rebounds on the offensive end. Saur and Ramos both demonstrated playmaking abilities by each providing 3 assists during the game.
