Braun Strowman Discusses Neck Injury Recovery with Steve Austin’s Support

Braun Strowman, a prominent figure in professional wrestling, recently opened up about his severe neck injury sustained during a match on May 1, 2023. Although he is no longer an active competitor in WWE, Strowman remains a beloved personality among fans. Following his injury, which required extensive medical intervention, he sought guidance from wrestling legend Steve Austin, who played a crucial role in his recovery process.

In an interview with TMZ’s Inside The Ring, Strowman detailed the incident that led to his injury. During a tag team match on Monday Night Raw, he experienced a moment of temporary paralysis after a significant impact to his neck. Strowman described the sensation he felt, noting that both of his arms went limp for approximately three seconds, accompanied by a severe burning feeling and numbness in his fingers.

Diagnosed with spinal stenosis, Strowman underwent neck fusion surgery in June 2023. The procedure involved the insertion of four screws and a metal plate to stabilize the affected area of his spine. Strowman expressed his fear that this injury could mark the end of his wrestling career, a concern he shared with Austin, who had faced a similar situation in his own career.

Reflecting on his conversation with Austin, Strowman stated, “Thankfully, I’m really close with Stone Cold Steve Austin; this injury was really, really similar to the injury that ended his career. I called Steve… He gave me a lot of reassurance and eased my mind with having the surgery. He’s had great success afterwards, no issues and stuff like that.”

Strowman has not participated in a match since April 2023, where he competed alongside LA Knight against Jacob Fatu and Solo Sikoa. With a shift in focus toward his emerging acting career, Strowman has expressed interest in taking on roles similar to iconic horror characters, such as Jason Voorhees from the Friday the 13th franchise.
