Haiden Harper Achieves Milestone of 2,000 Career Points

Future Troy Trojan basketball player Haiden Harper reached a significant milestone on January 20, 2024, surpassing 2,000 career points during a game against Beulah while playing for Lee-Scott Academy. This achievement highlights Harper’s remarkable skill and dedication to the sport.

Currently, Harper leads his team with impressive averages of 15.6 points, 3.2 assists, and 2.1 steals per game. Having signed with Troy University in November, he is set to join the Trojan roster for the 2026-2027 basketball season.

In expressing his gratitude for this milestone, Harper stated, “First of all, I am grateful to God for blessing me with the ability to play and love this sport and hit this great milestone of 2,000 career points. I also want to thank my family for always being there and supporting me. I am thankful for all the coaches that have inspired me over the years and that have been great role models along the way.”

Harper’s accomplishments on the court have not gone unnoticed. Last season, he earned Class 3A All-State honors and was named the Opelika-Auburn News Boys Basketball Small School Player of the Year. His performance has garnered praise from coaches and analysts alike, underscoring his potential as he prepares for the next level of competition.

Coach Praises Harper’s Talent and Character

Troy’s head coach, Scott Cross, commended Harper’s abilities, stating, “Haiden is a dynamic, super skilled basketball player that can score with the very best of them. 2,000 points is an absolutely amazing accomplishment, but it doesn’t surprise me because Haiden is a big-time hooper.”

Cross further emphasized the significance of Harper’s achievement, noting the dual importance of his character. “What makes this milestone even more special is that Haiden is an even better person than basketball player. We are super excited to watch Haiden close out his journey at Lee-Scott as they strive for a state championship, and we cannot wait to start coaching him here at Troy.”

Harper’s journey reflects not only his individual talent but also the support and mentorship he has received throughout his basketball career. As he continues to excel at Lee-Scott Academy, fans and teammates alike eagerly anticipate his contributions to the Troy Trojans in the coming years.
