New Hampshire Soccer Stars Selected for 2026 Lion’s Cup

The New Hampshire Soccer Coaches Association has announced its selections for the upcoming Lion’s Cup, showcasing the talents of six local players and two coaches. This annual event, scheduled for July 18, 2026, at Hanover High School, features top senior soccer players from both New Hampshire and Vermont competing against each other.

The Lion’s Cup not only highlights athletic prowess but also serves a charitable purpose. Proceeds from the matches benefit the Lions Sight & Hearing Foundation, which provides essential services such as hearing aids and cataract surgeries to residents in need.

Drou Goff, head coach of Pembroke, and Couper Gunn, head coach of Kearsarge, will lead the New Hampshire boys’ team. Both coaches earned accolades as Division II and Division III Coach of the Year, respectively. They will be joined by fellow coaches Tyler VanDeventer of Bishop Guertin and Eric Porusta of Moultonborough.

The boys’ roster includes standout players such as Bow defender Ciaran Duffy, who will bolster the back line, Brady Colgan from Coe-Brown, who is expected to drive the offense, and Fin Murphy of Hopkinton, who will contribute in midfield.

On the girls’ side, three local seniors have been selected. Bow’s Charlotte Larochelle will play defense, while Coe-Brown’s striker Bella Lapierre and goalkeeper Sadie Scruton will compete for positions in a talented pool of players.

The Lion’s Cup continues to be a significant event in the New England soccer calendar, celebrating both skill and community support. As the date approaches, excitement builds among players, coaches, and fans alike, all eager to witness this annual showdown of athletic talent.
