Arlington Police Arrest Suspect in 2021 Murder of Kier Solomon

UPDATE: Arlington Police have made a significant breakthrough in the murder case of transgender woman Kier Solomon, who was tragically killed on September 30, 2021. In a swift response to a four-year investigation, authorities have arrested 25-year-old Arthur Morris Jr., who was already incarcerated for an unrelated offense in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
Detectives have charged Morris with one count of murder following evidence that links him directly to the crime scene. Solomon was found shot in her car at a North Arlington apartment complex, and despite immediate medical attention, she did not survive her injuries.
The investigation revealed that Solomon had been lured to the location under the guise of meeting someone from a dating app. This method of manipulation was consistent with a pattern identified in Morris’s previous behavior. Another victim had also reported a similar incident of robbery and aggravated assault occurring weeks before Solomon’s murder, providing further context to the investigation.
As detectives delved deeper, they uncovered crucial email and phone records that placed Morris at the scene “before, during, and after the murder.” These developments have prompted Arlington Police Chief Al Jones to commend his team, stating,
“This investigation truly highlights the persistence and dedication of our detectives.”
He further emphasized the challenges faced during the investigation, noting,
“What never changes, though, is our commitment to delivering justice for victims of crime.”
Currently, Morris is being held at a facility in Childress, Texas, awaiting transfer to Tarrant County for his arraignment. As the wheels of justice turn, the Arlington community reflects on the painful loss of Kier Solomon, whose life was cut short in a violent manner.
This case underscores not only the tireless efforts of law enforcement but also the need for ongoing vigilance regarding the safety of vulnerable individuals in our society. As more information surfaces, the Arlington Police Department is committed to ensuring that every lead is pursued and justice is served.
