Bandfest Day 2 Delivers Spectacular Performances Before Rose Parade

UPDATE: Bandfest Day 2 has just concluded with an electrifying showcase at Pasadena City College, featuring top marching bands set to participate in the Rose Parade on New Year’s Day. The event, which took place on December 30, 2025, captivated audiences with vibrant performances from bands across the globe.

The atmosphere was alive with musical energy as the 45th annual Bandfest continued its tradition of celebrating marching band excellence. Under cloudy skies, the stadium filled with cheers as two sessions of performances showcased an impressive lineup of talented musicians and auxiliary performers.

The first session featured notable acts including the Pasadena City College Herald Trumpets and the Homewood Patriot Band from Homewood, Alabama. The audience was treated to mesmerizing routines from the Greendale High School Marching Band from Greendale, Wisconsin, and the prestigious Bands of America Honor Band from Indianapolis, Indiana.

In the second session, bands continued to dazzle with performances from the Franklin High School Marching Band of Franklin, Tennessee, and the renowned Indiana University Marching Hundred. Notably, the Mino Jiyu Gakuen “Golden Bears” Green Band from Toyonaka, Japan added an international flair to the event. The U.S. Marine Corps West Coast Composite Band from San Diego, California also delivered a stirring performance, underscoring the military’s commitment to community and celebration.

Master of Ceremonies Jim Hahn, the Music Committee Advisor, announced each band, adding to the excitement of the day. Performances were not just about music; they involved dynamic dance routines and colorful displays that brought every act to life on the field.

The final day of Bandfest serves as a prelude to the grand spectacle of the Rose Parade, which kicks off at 8 a.m. on January 1, 2026, along Colorado Boulevard. All 19 participating bands will showcase their talents in front of thousands of spectators and millions watching from home.
