Boulder Opera Company Launches New Season of Community Engagement

URGENT UPDATE: Boulder Opera Company has officially launched its new season, captivating the community with a vibrant lineup of performances aimed at making opera accessible for all. Since its inception in 2012, this nonprofit has dedicated itself to breaking down barriers to live performance, ensuring that audiences from all backgrounds can experience the magic of opera.

The season kicked off with a spectacular Opera in the Park event at the Boulder Bandshell, featuring highlights from some of opera’s most beloved works. This outdoor celebration provided a unique opportunity for families and friends to gather and enjoy the art form under the open sky.

In November, audiences delighted in the warmth and humor of Donizetti’s The Elixir of Love, while in April, Boulder Opera will present Strauss’s poignant masterpiece, Der Rosenkavalier, exploring themes of love and transformation.

Boulder Opera’s influence extends far beyond the stage. Hundreds of residents, particularly from underserved Latino and Hispanic communities, have enjoyed free concerts, while thousands of students from Title I schools have been introduced to opera through engaging educational programs. These family-friendly productions are designed to unite the community and foster a new generation of opera enthusiasts.

As a nonprofit organization reliant on donations, Boulder Opera is seeking to raise $12,000 in unrestricted funds this year. These funds will support artist pay, expand bilingual programming, and enhance community access leading into the 2026 season. Their message is clear: it only takes a little to make a significant impact.
