Broncos Promote Jordan Turner for NFL Debut Against Cowboys
UPDATE: The Denver Broncos have just announced the promotion of linebacker Jordan Turner from their practice squad, allowing him to make his NFL debut this Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys. This decision follows the one-game suspension of linebacker Dre Greenlaw, creating an immediate impact for the team in the ongoing 2025 NFL season.
Turner, a 23-year-old rookie undrafted free agent, joined the Broncos after April’s NFL draft. He has been actively involved in the offseason workouts and training camp, showcasing his skills before being waived and later re-signed to the practice squad. The 6-foot-1, 231-pound linebacker previously played three seasons at Wisconsin before transferring to Michigan State, where he amassed impressive stats including 201 combined tackles, 23 tackles for loss, eight sacks, five interceptions, and two forced fumbles over 42 career games.
This week, Turner will join fellow linebackers Alex Singleton, Justin Strnad, and Karene Reid on the gameday roster, stepping up in a critical moment for the Broncos. Head coach Sean Payton addressed the situation, stating, “We were clearly in [Greenlaw’s] corner with the appeal, but again, we can’t control that.” The suspension resulted from actions following last week’s stunning comeback victory over the New York Giants, where the Broncos demonstrated resilience and teamwork.
Fans are eager to see how Turner will contribute against a formidable opponent like the Cowboys. His promotion not only highlights his potential but also emphasizes the team’s need for depth and performance in key positions. Turner’s blend of athleticism and cover skills has drawn positive attention, and he is expected to make a significant impact on the field.
As Turner prepares for his debut on October 29, 2025, anticipation builds among fans and analysts alike. His journey from practice squad to game day exemplifies the unpredictable nature of the NFL and the opportunities that arise through hard work and perseverance.
